Dan Abrams’ Bottle Raiders Acquires Event Business

Variety publishes details of Dan Abrams' new acquisitions for Bottle Raiders.

Bottle Raiders, which offers reviews of fine liquors such as whiskey, tequila, gin and rum, is expanding. The site collects reviews from publications, including Bottle Raiders itself, and gives an average score.

Abrams has acquired Whiskey Washback and Arte Agave, two event brands that host eleven tasting events annually in cities such as New York, Chicago, Austin, Miami, Houston, Dallas and Atlanta with guest lists of more than 400 each.

He told Variety that his plan is to expand the number of events and locations for the events while also offering similar experiences to organizations and companies.

Founders Walter and Emily Easterbook will stay on and become part of the Bottle Raiders team, bringing in their knowledge, backgrounds and relationships with liquor brands and the people who work with them.

Bottle Raiders also plans to launch a new app in June, allowing users to scan and tap into the content available on the site.

“With this acquisition, we are sort of bringing everything together, which is events, video, an app and the web,” Abrams told Variety.
