Reelz Renews ‘On Patrol: Live’ for Season 5

Deadline reported the news that ‘On Patrol: Live’ has been renewed by Reelz for yet another 90 episodes, making this the fifth season of the widely popular series hosted and executive produced by Dan Abrams, that follows police officers on patrol nationwide.

This comes after ‘On Patrol: Live’ celebrated its 300th episode back in October 2025.

“In today’s fragmented media landscape, a pick-up of 90 episodes – 360 hours of live television – is virtually unheard of;” Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard told Deadline. “… yet Reelz has done this for four consecutive years as On Patrol: Live continues to deliver for the network and create one of the most engaged and loyal audiences in television.”

Also included in this deal for another 90 episodes is the spinoff ‘On Patrol: First Shift’, reported Deadline writer Peter White. White stated that this will take the franchise through at least January of 2027.

Abrams is joined by analysts Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in Columbia, South Carolina, Captain Tom Rizzo from the Howell Township Police Department in New Jersey, Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin, retired Tulsa Police Department lieutenant and a rotating panel of experts.

The series premiered in 2022 and airs live Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm to 12am, following the nightly work of law enforcement officers on patrol across the country. Deadline also noted that 50-plus cameras are utilized across these regions, following live news-gathering protocols.

“OPL not only chronicles the experience of law enforcement on the job, in real time, the show continues to make a real difference with our ‘Missing’ and ‘Be on the Lookout’ segments,” Abrams told Deadline. “We get the word out every week about ongoing cases of missing kids and unsolved crimes. Between our viewers and our #OPNation social footprint, since our premiere in 2022 the show has helped return 48 missing people to their loved ones and provided tips to law enforcement that have led to the capture of 96 suspects. We’re so grateful to our incredible audience and thrilled to be on Reelz for another year.”
