In an article posted to the site, Mediaite recently announced that it will be partnering with major names from cable news as part of a new slate of personality-led YouTube channels.
Reporter David Gilmour said that Mediaite founder Dan Abrams is planning to “bring trusted media voices directly to digital audiences. No network filter, no gatekeeping, just platform-first news and commentary built for the YouTube era.”
Journalists Alisyn Camerota and Dave Briggs will co-host Sanity. It is a Mediaite-backed video podcast that, Gilmour writes, is focused on “seeking answers to problems with curiosity, irreverence and an open-mind” in a “non-finger-wagging way.”
Ex-CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jessica Yelin is also bringing her “explainer-first” journalism to YouTube with Mediaite’s backing.
“You don’t have to be a political extremist to see massive success on YouTube,” Abrams told Mediaite of the creator-first initiative. “Alisyn, Dave, and Jessica are engaging and trusted voices. We’re excited to help them connect directly with audiences who crave independent thinkers offering smart and maybe unpredictable conversation and analysis.”
