Dan Abrams appeared on Good Morning America to talk about the emotional reaction in the courtroom from Edwards’ daughter. Does it really help the prosecution’s case? “It really cuts both ways,” Dan said. “The fact that Elizabeth Edwards got so upset about this, the defense is going to use to its advantage. They’re going to say, look: ‘See? This is why John Edwards was trying to cover this up. This money was going to prevent that [emotional reaction] from happening – not for the campaign, but to protect his personal life.'” What the prosecution is trying to do here is show the chronology of what happened when, and demonstrate witness after witness that the [affair] cover-up was part of the fabric of the campaign, and that there is no separating the campaign from his personal life.
