26 Mar Dan Abrams Reveals Rebrand of Long Island Vineyard
Media entrepreneur and ABC’s chief legal analyst, Dan Abrams, has revealed the new name and logo of his recently purchased vineyard. Currently known as Laurel Lake Vineyards, Long Island’s Newsday reports that Abrams plans to rebrand the North Fork winery under a new name, Ev&Em.
Hoping to turn the vineyard into a family business, the new name stems from a combination of the names of Abrams’ two children, Everett, 8, and Emilia, born just over a month ago on Feb 18th. “I have long dreamed of having a Long Island vineyard that could showcase the best of this region and become a long-term family business,” Abrams wrote in a statement to Newsday. “By calling it Ev&Em I hope that maybe when my kids are grown they’ll be a little more incentivized to take care of, and pride in, the wines that bear their names.”
Long Island’s Patch and Behind the Hedges have also reported on the vineyard’s rebrand. The logo, which Behind the Hedges reports as being designed by Andrew Egan of Cool Gray Seven, consists of a clean, bold black font with a hand drawn ampersand.
While customers will have to wait a few more months to see the new branding reflected on the vineyard grounds, the winery and tasting room currently remain open for business. Abrams hopes to have the rebrand complete by end of summer or early fall, and plans to hold a grand reopening when the time comes. While Abrams expects to have a few new wines under the Ev&Em label at the time of reopening, Newsday reports that “a newer selection of best wines will come out next year and beyond.” This reflects the time it takes to properly grow, harvest, and make quality wine.
Ev&Em Vineyards is located at 3165 Main Road, Laurel, NY 11948.
