Dan Abrams Announces Opening of New Restaurant to Page Six

Page Six scooped the announcement that Dan Abrams is opening his latest restaurant in the Flatiron District this fall.

The restaurant, named Danny’s after a childhood nickname, will be “an American Wine Bistro,” Dan confirmed, set to open its doors in late September at 46 W 22nd Street. With renovation already underway, Danny’s will evoke a timeless dining experience with “an old school feel, banquettes, old photos, and a mural,” Dan told Page Six.

In an interview with What Now New York, Dan expands on his focus on under appreciated wine markets, stating “With every business I’ve started, I’ve looked for where there is a hole in the market… It seems to me that when it comes to restaurants, there is a big gaping hole when it comes to wines from states in the U.S. outside of California, Oregon and Washington. That is exciting for me.”

Dan’s previous restaurant ventures included White Street, who Page Six recalls welcomed household media names in addition to “…President Obama, along with a mix of movie stars,” and The Lion, which was “a breakout spot when it opened.” Danny’s will undoubtedly welcome a similar crowd in “a more intimate 75 seats” in what the Post called “Abrams’ own Madison Square Park neighborhood,” right in the heart of what is known as the Ladies’ Mile Historic District. The restaurant plans to honor what was once a prime shopping district in Manhattan with a hand-painted mural on the wall and specially selected photos.

Dan has been interviewing an array of “impressive” chefs and expects to have an announcement soon.
