29 Jan Danny’s NYC Restaurant: The Reviews Are In!

People have been talking a lot about Danny’s since its opening in October 2025. From TV segments to news articles to the most respected influencers on social media, the restaurant isn’t just getting buzz, its been uniformly celebrated.
Emily Adler from Condé Nast Traveler said, “It may have been my best meal of the year, and I don’t say that lightly.” Adler gushed over the punchy yuzu sauce that comes with the hamachi crudo, the fries that “were dangerously addictive”, and the make-your-own sundae, which she will be thinking about for the foreseeable future. Kate Krader from Bloomberg named Danny’s “One of the Top Five Best Restaurants in New York City,” stating, “The menu boasts a series of highlight-reel dishes, created by chef Ed Tinoco… His chopped kale salad might make you flash back to your favorite ‘90s tortilla bowl, studded with broken blue corn chips and chunks of avocado in a lime vinaigrette.”
Town & Country included Danny’s in its 13 New York City Restaurants to Visit This Winter, and reported that “Danny’s… reimagines American favorites with fine dining techniques: Red Hot deviled eggs with Calabrian chilies, ham and cheese Hot Pockets made with 16-month aged ham, three varieties of crispy rice including spicy bluefin tuna on black rice…” and those are just a few of the appetizers. Some of the elevated classic entrees include, “… brioche-crusted Atlantic halibut with bouillabaisse to dry-aged ‘Peking’ duck with walnut hoisin, rosemary buttermilk fried chicken with maple butter biscuits, and a Pat LaFrieda cheeseburger.”
Modern Luxury, in picking its 13 new New York City Restaurants to Book This Season, described Danny’s as a “fresh chapter in NYC dining that feels instantly iconic,” bringing attention to the hand-painted mural in the bar room that’s a modern nod to the establishments that once lined the historic Ladies’ Mile District. Danny’s is the perfect blend of nostalgic and contemporary, all wrapped up into one restaurant.
One of the more memorable items on the menu at Danny’s is the classic house burger. So much so that Gayle King and Adam Glassman from Oprah Daily had to come and try it for themselves. Made with a Pat LaFrieda beef patty and topped with caramelized onions and a housemade aioli, Glassman commented that the burger is so good you don’t even need condiments to dress it up. After taking a big bite, Gayle King said, “Wow. That is delicious.”
But the raves about Danny’s have been even more prevalent on Instagram and TikTok. Food influencers like Mike Chau have called Danny’s “One of the best new restaurants of the year” in an Instagram post that highlights some of the best dishes of Danny’s.
Rachel Brotman, AKA @thecarboholic, called Danny’s “one of my favorite openings of 2025… the best American food I’ve had all year.” Rachel deemed the salmon crispy rice, agnolotti with vodka sauce, and the deep dish cookie the “must order dishes” from the menu.
The popular restaurant review group, @sistersnacking, called Danny’s “your go-to spot for a Thursday night dinner,” stating, “We had such a great meal… adding Danny’s to our short list!” and highlighting the “secret star” of the menu – the kale salad.
