22 Oct Dan Abrams’ New Restaurant is Officially Open

Danny’s is officially open for business, and the response has been phenomenal.

Creator and proprietor of Danny’s, Dan Abrams, held a preview dinner on October 8th which drew the sort of media/celebrity crowd that has people calling it “the new Elaine’s. . with better food!” Page Six reported first on who filled the banquettes and green-leather chairs, including CNN’s Abby Phillips and John Berman, Fox News’ Bill Hemmer, MSNBC’s Ari Melber, Ny1’s Pat Kiernan, NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas, Don Lemon, Bill O’Reilly, Rob Marciano, among many others.  Mediaite reported that “ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and his wife Ali Wentworth dined with Peter Lattman and Isabel Gillies… Bryant Gumbel had a booth in the corner — along with his wife, Hillary Gumbel.”

About the mix of attendees Mediaite wrote, “for a bistro that proudly boasts an all-American wine list complete with selections from red and blue states, what could be more fitting, or maybe even encouraging.”

The New York Times received one of the first glimpses at the Danny’s menu created by chef Ed Tinoco, revealing, “The chef Ed Tinoco, who worked at Metropolis and Alinea, adds some inventive touches to a menu that’s more routine (tuna tartare, hamachi crudo, Caesar salad, lumache Bolognese, grilled branzino) than revolutionary. But let’s hear it for the Peking duck and the Taleggio agnolotti.”

Eater New York dubbed Danny’s “…a new clubby spot for crudo, kale Caesar, a good burger, and insider gossip…”. They also made note of the focus of Danny’s – the all American wine list: “The standout is an all-American wine selection, with more than 100 bottles with a focus on lesser-heralded regions — Texas, Charlottesville, Virginia, and Laurel, New York — alongside known labels from the West Coast.”

The Infatuation used a picture of the Red Hot Deviled Eggs and Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets that will have you pulling up the Danny’s profile on RESY to book yourself a table. 

Most recently Foodie Instagram stars Mike Chau and his wife Alexandra raved about the new Flatiron hotspot in an Instagram post packed with photos, calling it “one of the best new restaurants of the year.” Foodbabyny also gave Danny’s the five-star stamp of approval, showing off the amazing food in an Instagram Reel here.  

Danny’s is open Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm-10pm. Reservations are open now… if you can still nab one…
